Sunday Brunch

This Sunday was beautiful! We enjoyed the sunshine at one of our favorite patio restaurants. The kids love the playground and the food. T and I love that we can just sit back and talk while the kids play!

Go Bluff!

Our cousin, DJ, is a coach for the Flour Bluff varsity basketball team. This weekend, most of our family showed up to support the Hornets as they played for their Area Championship.

Park Day Fun

We are very excited about a new homeschooling group which has formed on our side of town. We are meeting at a great park which is only 10 minutes from our house--a huge improvement over the other park locations we have traveled to. This week, the theme was "How Things Grow," and everyone brought seeds, soil, and containers to use for planting. The group also took a hike along the creek bed. The boys were very excited to find sea-life fossils from the Cretaceous Period.

Grumpa's Birthday at the Coast

We had a great time celebrating Grumpa's birthday on February 5th. These are pictures of the trip from Astro A's camera.

Birthday boy!

Through Astro A's Eyes

Astro A received a digital camera for his 5th birthday and has taken excellent care of it for three years. He has a memory card with enormous capacity, so we only download every once in a while. This weekend we downloaded over 300 pictures, taken over the last 3 or 4 months. It is always interesting to see how he frames his shots, and I am usually a little surprised by some of his choices for subject matter. He is taking some of his favorites, experimenting with Photoshop, and will place them on his own blog. I want to share a few of my own favorites, too.

Now this is a look of love!

See you later, Grumpa!

Did I mention subject matter?

Watch out, Mom found the camera!

After two weeks of wondering where I had left it, I finally decided that I would start an all-out search for my beloved camera. I even offered a reward for any family member who could provide information which would lead to its safe return. I turned the house upside-down this morning and found nothing. I decided that my trunk was a possibility, so on my way to the car, as I moved a spare car seat out of my way...I found it!!! Sure, NOW I remember putting it there, in a hurry, thinking I'll be sure to pick it up on my way back into the house. For two weeks, though, I had no clue. Lucky for me, no one else could help; I got to keep the reward for myself!

Here are some photos from this afternoon. Boy, am I glad to have my camera back!

We are...

...a homeschooling family, learning more from life (and each other) than from any set curriculum. We love travel, books, museums, music, parks, friends, Legos, bugs, dirt, rocks, plants, water, bubbles, dinosaurs, things with wheels, gravity, stars, cameras, sports, and more...
