Wednesday's Lego Creation

The boys and I worked together to build a play house out of Legos. It was a fun team effort!

Favorites

I thought I would share our favorite part of our goodnight routine. We call it "saying our favorites," and it is a variation of Oprah's Gratitude Journal from years back. Each night, just before going to sleep, we take turns telling each other our favorite parts of the day. It is a great way to help the younger set bring closure to the day in a happy way. Here are some of our favorites from last night:

*going for a walk with Kelly and Collin along the dry creek bed at the park
*seeing (but not getting bitten by) two snakes on the same walk
*playing frisbee with the kids at park day
*finding and watching the huge green caterpillar at the park
*playing hide and seek
*making and playing with play dough
*playing a computer game
*finding the Legoland Windsor park map while cleaning the boys' room
*planting our new pomegranate tree
*playing soccer in the back yard with dad

With smiles on their faces, the boys decided that they had a good day. :-)

I can't resist adding a few more pictures of our afternoon at the park on Monday...

At the park

Monday was beautiful! We enjoyed the breeze at the park for several hours Monday afternoon. Here are some photos of our fun.

We took T to Wildseed Farms this weekend. The bluebonnets were gone, but we got to see a brand new butterfly, fresh from its chrysalis. Here is a photo that A took with my new camera. Isn't it pretty?

They also have several ponds with water lilies blooming.

Our new camera has arrived!

The boys and I are pretty excited! I am, because I will have so much to learn and so many ways to improve. The boys are seeing a trickle-down effect. A is going to be using my old camera, and O will be using A's old one. Everyone's happy! Here are a few photos from the new cam, straight from the box...

with board games.

(I took this photo with A's camera; my camera has gone on strike.)

We made it out to the Botanical Garden this morning (without our cameras--oops!) and saw as much as we could before anyone in the Audubon Club melted. We headed straight for home afterward, turned on the a/c and cooled off with cold drinks. It's hot outside!

Sunday Review

The boys worked out in the yard...

My Mom and I went to a Spurs game, where we ran into my Kindergarden teacher! Check out their sparkles!

The Spurs warm up.

Last, but not least, my Dad took this picture of a wild turkey in South Texas.

Little O smells a red poppy.

Judging from his face, I am guessing that red poppies don't smell very good...
