Growing up, I spent a great deal of time at my Mamaw's house. She had a cabinet (twice the size of mine and much more organized) completely stocked with board games. Some were new, but my favorites were the ones which had been used for years, the edges of the boards worn and the corners of the boxes taped many times over. These were the games my dad had played with his brothers and sister and friends. These were the games that had stood the test of time. My cousins and I could play for hours.
I am happy to say that not a day passes in our house without someone going to our game cabinet, which has been stocked with many of the games that I played growing up. From a quick game of Connect Four or Battleship to a 4-day marathon of Monopoly, our family is carrying on a wonderful tradition.

Last night, Little O chose Othello and beat me soundly.

I love othello! I remember hours of fun playing that with my mom growing up!
